Microsoft unveils Exchange 2010
Microsoft announced Exchange 2010 a few minutes ago, and lifted the majority of the NDA clauses that myself and Doug have been dutifully following while at the Exchange Ignite training this week in Orlando, FL. We’ve got servers spinning up, and we’ll be dropping an Exchange 2010 demo event in the very near future.
A few highlights so far are:
- Vastly improved replication scenarios which can provide complete HA with as few as 2 servers
- Exchange Web Services Federation, which utilizes an MS cloud service to broker connections between orgs (read: you can share your calendar with anyone else on Ex2010 and Free/Busy Search them, along with encrypted Federated delivery, or any combination of those, and possibly others as the platform evolves)
- MoC integration with OWA. Without the need for a CWA deployment, the OWA interface now provides for Communicator integration so you can use basic IM features from OWA.
- Voice to Text translation for voicemails. UM users now get a Text summary of their Voicemails. Great for quickly previewing and deciding if you need to listen to a message or not.
Lots of other great info, and we’ll be pumping it out as we dive into this a little more deeply, so stay tuned.
I have been searching for sites related to this. Glad I found you. Thanks
